Carbon Footprint Estimates

Powered by Sluicebox

The TrustedParts.com BOM tool provides approved users with access to carbon footprint estimates for electronic components. Powered by Sluiceboxopen in new window, these insights help identify high-emission areas early in the supply chain, enabling teams to take proactive steps to reduce the overall carbon footprint of a BOM.

By understanding and addressing emissions at the component level, organizations can build greater customer trust, unlock new market opportunities, and improve margins. Sluicebox Accuracy & Methodology

Carbon footprint information displayed in the TrustedParts.com BOM tool is provided by Sluiceboxopen in new window, an "All-In-One Generative LCA™ Platform." Sluicebox's real-time carbon intelligence data reporting combines manufacturer data with information on over 14,000 materials and production processes from more than 100 countries, enabling precise and scalable decision-making.

Sluicebox is audited by third parties to provide trusted insights into carbon emissions and TUV-certified for ISO 14040:44 standards. The estimates can be up to 90% accurate at the component level. If greater accuracy is needed, please contact Sluiceboxopen in new window or read more about their methodology in the Sluicebox Whitepaper.

Viewing Carbon Footprint Estimates

Carbon emissions information from Sluicebox is integrated throughout the BOM tool:

While Viewing and Editing a BOM

Users can see:

  • Total kgCO2e for all components in the BOM
  • Per-component kgCO2e values

In Exported BOM Files

BOM export files can include:

  • KgCO2e: Carbon footprint estimates per part
  • Total kgCO2e: Carbon footprint estimates per part based on the purchase quantity

If you would like these values included in your export files, use the BOM export settings to verify the kgCO2e columns are enabled for export.

The Trusted Source for Authorized Inventory

TrustedParts.com was created by ECIA in collaboration with participating distributors as a free service to support the authorized electronic components industry by giving users access to aggregated price and availability data for genuine parts from only authorized sources.

While other inventory aggregation sites may include data from sources that are not authorized by the manufacturer, ECIA works extensively on an ongoing basis to verify that price and availability data displayed on TrustedParts.com is only for products for which the distributors are authorized/franchised. This is why TrustedParts.com is the best source for searching the authorized channel for the electronic components you need.
Membership in ECIA is not required to participate on the site.
